The Vinewood Preschool Staff is dedicated to helping the minds and hearts of our students grow.
Director and Teacher
I began teaching and Co-Directing at Vinewood Preschool in 1992. I became the solo Director in 2018. My husband Bryan and I actually got married at Vinewood Church (home of Vinewood Preschool) in 1979. We have three wonderful children with great spouses and three incredible grandkids.
My favorite part of teaching is the interaction and personal connections that are formed with the preschool children and their families. I learn from them, challenge them, and believe in them. Every day is different and full of promise. I have the opportunity to help instill within them a lasting love for learning and prepare the children for Kindergarten. They are part of my heart forever.
My husband and I purchased electric bikes this summer. We have a lot of fun going effortlessly uphill and riding to wonderful destinations like Crumbl cookies and Menchies! Life is good!
This is my 30th year at Vinewood Preschool. I have a beautiful blended family that includes 6 children and 9 grandchildren.
My favorite thing about teaching Preschool is seeing how much the children benefit from being in a social environment. For the 3 year olds it is sometimes their first time being away from their parents. Since I teach the Pre-K class also, I get to see how much they grow and become independent. I know learning to write their names and to use scissors and color in the lines is important, but I believe getting those social skills is crucial for their growth.
I have gone deep sea fishing in Mexico where I caught albacore tuna and fished in Oregon and caught Salmon. I love the ocean and fishing was a fun experience.
I began teaching at Vinewood Preschool in 2019. Before teaching preschool I spent time teaching at the college, and middle school levels.
I was born and raised in Lodi, and still live here with my daughter who is a Vinewood Preschool alum!
I enjoy teaching preschool because I can be creative, and watching my students learn is exciting!
I love to connect, and build relationships with my students, and their families.
My favorite weekend trip is going to Tahoe!
I have been working at Vinewood Preschool as a Teacher or Teacher’s assistant for approximately 27 years. My husband Danny and I moved to Lodi with our 2 daughters about 28 years ago. Since then we have added 4 grandchildren to our family. We really love living in Lodi.
It’s hard to pick just one favorite thing about working at the preschool. I really enjoy watching the children make friends and seeing how these relationships grow. I also enjoy seeing the excitement on the children’s faces when we do our science experiments in Pre-K.
I love being a grandmother. All of my grandchildren have attended Vinewood Preschool and my fourth grandchild will attend in 2019/2020. Also, my husband and I love to take cruises. I think that is the best way to take a vacation and relax!
My employment with Vinewood Preschool began in 1998. When I was initially hired I filled the position as the Preschool Secretary. After 3 years as the secretary I stepped into the position of Teacher’s assistant which I have thoroughly enjoyed ever since. My husband and I have 2 great children and we are thankful they have both have wonderful spouses. We are welcoming out first grandchild in the summer of 2019!
The best part about my job is developing trusting relationships with the children and their families. I love to engage with the children and observe each different personality. The conversations that ensue are priceless. As each school year comes to an end I reflect on the progress that the children have achieved, both socially and academically, and feel privileged to have played a small part in it.
My favorite vacation spot is anywhere by the ocean with my family.
Mary Louise Sherrill,
I started teaching in Southern California. I taught in that area for about ten years. After I moved to Lodi, I missed teaching, so I started teaching at Vinewood Preschool in 1991.
I have always loved teaching math and science to the preschool children. They enjoy new things, so the science experiments are always exciting for them to watch.
I have three children, seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. My youngest children are twins, one is a boy and one is a girl. They are all three a blessing from the Lord.
I look forward to meeting all of our wonderful new students, and getting to know them. This will be a great year of learning many new things and having many new experiences.
My pets are chickens! My chickens lay white, brown, and green eggs.
I have worked at Vinewood Preschool since 2018. My daughter is currently attending here and likes to help me in the office sometimes.
My husband, daughter, and I moved to Lodi in 2018 and enjoy living closer to family in my husband's hometown.
I also work as an SLPA part time.
It is such a blessing to see and support children’s growth in language, play, and to prepare them for the new adventures of kindergarten and beyond!
I used to work at Disneyland!
